Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-26
This privacy policy applies to tabularfoundationmodels.com operated by Christoph Molnar, based in Germany.
What we collect
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit this site and which pages they read. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects: a truncated/anonymized IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, and the referring website. Google Analytics does not collect names, emails, or other directly identifying information.
Why we collect it (legal basis)
We use this data solely to measure traffic and improve the site. Where required by law (e.g., for EU/UK visitors), our legal basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can decline, and no analytics cookies will be set. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the Cookie Preferences link in the footer.
How long we keep it
Google Analytics retains event data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Aggregated reporting data may be retained longer.
Who else sees it
Data is processed by Google LLC on our behalf. Google may transfer data to servers in the United States and other countries. Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Email updates
If you sign up for email updates through the form on this site, we collect your email address (and any name you choose to provide) so we can send you news and updates about the book. We do this only after you actively sign up, so our legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing or by contacting us; this does not affect messages already sent.
Email sign-ups are handled by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), based in the United States, which stores and processes your email address on our behalf and may hold it on servers in the United States. Kit’s privacy policy: https://kit.com/privacy. We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your rights
For analytics, we only collect anonymous data, so we can’t identify individual visitors or look up specific records; you can stop collection by withdrawing consent in the cookie banner, clearing cookies, or using Google’s opt-out tool. If you have signed up for email updates, we can identify you by your email address, and you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data and to withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us. EU/UK visitors may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, for material changes, post a notice on the site.
